Ts. Dr. Lee Khai Loon is a Director of the Confucius Institute and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM), UMPSA. Besides, he was the former Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Academic Collaboration in the Academic and International Affairs Department, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), and a Deputy Dean of Academic & Student Affairs in FIM, UMPSA. He specialized in supply chain management, technology management, operations management, industrial engineering, and business management. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Supply Chain Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management from the School of Technology Management and Logistics, Universiti Utara Malaysia.

He has a long industrial experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), fashion, food and beverage, and manufacturing industries. He started his first academic career in 2016, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at the university. He has received numerous academic, research, and product innovation awards. He is a chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT) Malaysia and UK, the Professional Technologist in Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), the Certified Trainer (TTT) by The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), the Certified Trainer for MonsoonSIM, Mendeley Advisor, and Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator.

Dr. Lee's teaching philosophy is fundamentally centered on the belief that learning is an interactive, lifelong journey where experience serves as the greatest teacher. He views education as a dynamic partnership between instructor and student, aimed at developing critical thinkers and well-rounded individuals prepared for real-world challenges. Central to his approach is a deep commitment to learner-centered education, which drives him to adapt his methods continuously blending traditional pedagogy with modern technology and hands-on activities to meet the unique needs of each student.

Underpinning this adaptive strategy is a strong emphasis on practical, experiential learning. Dr. Lee integrates industry visits, simulation tools like MonsoonSIM, and real-world projects to bridge theory and practice. He upholds that meticulous preparation, mutual commitment, and ongoing evaluation are essential to creating an effective and responsive learning environment. Ultimately, his goal is not only to impart knowledge but to foster resilience, innovation, and independent problem-solving skills in his learners.
