Maritime Logistics : Global Trend, Issues and Solutions
On 1 September 2021, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., a highly engaging session on “Maritime Logistics – Global Trends, Issues and Solutions” was conducted with Mejar Log. Ts. Chang Kah Loon, the President of The Society of Logisticians, Malaysia, as the distinguished speaker. The session provided participants with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving maritime logistics industry, where global trends such as digitalization, automation, and sustainability were reshaping supply chains and influencing trade flows. Mejar Log. Ts. Chang also addressed pressing issues faced by the sector, including port congestion, regulatory challenges, geopolitical tensions, and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, he shared practical solutions and strategies on how the maritime industry could adapt to these challenges, highlighting the importance of innovation, collaboration, and policy alignment to ensure efficiency and resilience. The talk not only deepened participants’ understanding of the critical role maritime logistics plays in the global economy but also inspired them to think about future solutions that could strengthen Malaysia’s position in the international logistics landscape.
